Greenglue Sealant and Compound

Green Glue sealant and compound is a soundproofing material that, as the term suggests, is green in color. The most common application of the sealant is in new construction and retrofit projects.
Green Glue works like a damping material, converting mechanical energy that is generated by sound waves into small amounts of heat. When properly installed, it has a 90% success rate in eliminating noise, including low-frequency sounds.
The sealant, which comes in 5-gallon buckets or 20 oz. tubes is applied between wallboard sheets. You do not need specialized training or skills to apply it. You should not despair if you do not get immediate results – it takes between 7 to 8 days before you can get results (since it only works when dry) and up to 45 days before you can reap maximum benefits.
